Hi, I will living abroad for two month till July15,Can I temporarily suspend my account and how?How can I reactive the account when I come back? Thanks.

Welcome to the Community!

 

We can add a temporary suspension on your line at the beginning of a new cycle for a period of 2 to 12 months at a fee of $30/month if the lines has been active with us for a minimum of 1 month and if you are not currently under a contract.

I have 3 lines in one account and i just called fido today to suspend one of my lines  for atleast 3months but it is under a contract coz my daughter who is using that line was out of the country starting today. I was just confused because the representative whom i spoke today said it’s okay to suspend that line even if is in a cotract and it was in the middle of my billing cycle. So she did the suspension and i just got the  confirmation via email but i would like to know if this is right because i don’t like to be charge for additiona fee or payment with this matter.

I will be living abroad for 12 months and am hoping to be able to suspend my account. I am under a contract and was wondering what the options are for suspending my account while I am away.

 

I have read that if I was not under a contract it costs $7 a month for 2-12 months, but I am curious what the options are since I am under a contract.

I have three fido phones, and one of phone is used by my wife.

She will go to abroad for a while.

 

If I remember correctly, I stopped my number for a month a couple of years ago. During the period, I didn't need to pay for it. Is it still possible? If it is, could you tell me how I can apply it? Last time, I did it at the store.

If my wife wants to stay longer after the first month, is it possible to extend some months more by online?

I heard that if I pay around 7 bucks, I could extend it. Is it true?

The temporary suspension is $7 a month and can be added if you don't have an agreement. Since it's only possible to add the suspension once every 12 months, I would suggest adding it for a longer period. If ever your wife comes back to the country before the suspension expires, she can simply contact us to remove it and she'll be able to access her services right away.

I was thinking to use 1 month pausing line without any payment + couple months temporary suspending with 7 bucks for 4 to 11 months.

Is't it possible?

You can not pause the line without any payments. You can only do a temporary suspsension like @FidoClaudia mention above.

I did it without payment for only a month. 

Fido doesn't do it anymore?

@sehui when was that? As far as i'm aware Fido does not pause/suspend your account for free.

The cost for suspending your line is indeed $7 + taxes per month, and is only available if the line isn't under an agreement Smiley
