lte mobile hotspot

I currently have the 3 Gb for $15 data only plan but good (samaung) lte tablets are hard to find. I'm looking in to buying a lte Hotspot but why do you only get 2 GB of data for the same amount of money?

Yes, and it's a Great deal. If I were to buy a Hotspot could I transfer the deal I have on my tablet and still get the same deal with the Hotspot ( which I would purchase outright)?

As long as the requirements are respected for the activation, it's really up to you how you want to use the services afterwards.
