i get a samsung galaxy note 4 online, but the phone only shows on 3G

i get  a samsung galaxy note 4 online, but the phone only shows on 3G.

here is the detail of my note 4:

2G Network GSM 900/1800/1900
3G Network WCDMA 850/1900/2100
4G Network LTE-A 850/1800/2100/2600
SIM Micro-SIM

and FIDO 'S LTE is at 2100 MHz and 2600 MHz.

so my phone does support LTE of fido. why am i having the problem to connect to FIDO LTE NETWORK?

I telephone agent of fido. they told me to set up APN, but i does not work.

is there anyone which can solve my problem?

Accepted Solution

Hello Sinbadke,

I'll assume that you have a working LTE Sim and proper APNs.

It needs to be clarified that the 2100 refers to Advanced Wireless Services or AWS (Band 4; 1700/2100 MHz) rather than Band 1 as suggested on the 'How to' page. So the frequencies for Fido/Rogers' LTE are AWS, 2600, and 700 MHz. Unfortunately for you, it's becoming more apparent that AWS is required to access the LTE network. While there have been some reports of access to LTE without AWS, it is likely that those phones indeed had access to AWS which was not listed in their specifications (see some of my previous posts).

One thing worth trying however, might be to switch LTE Sims in case the one you have is faulty. If my understanding of the bands/frequencies is correct, then switching the Sim probably will not make a difference. That said, some people have had success with switching Sims.

Cheers

Hello,

Personally, I would say 'Yes, AWS is required.' However, I do not work for Fido/Rogers so I do not know what the official stance on that matter is. If you read my previous posts, you would have seen that I've been trying to figure out that exact question.
