I would like to know too. My BB Curve will die soon and I would like to upgrade to a BB Classic. I have been with Fido since 1999 (my first and only cell phone provider) and I do not want to go to Telus or Bell etc I definitely think Blackberry phones should be an option. If it won't be offered then unfortunately I will have to go to another carrier. Fido, please reconsider.

Will an unlocked passport work on the Fido network?

I am starting to be relatively concerned about Fido and BBerry offer.  Just looking at the phone offers, it looks as if the Q5 is no longer available for sale so no BBerry phones currently available through Fido.  Also, over the last 2 weeks, my connection to the BBerry server via Fido has been quite erratic (but this one appear to coincide with the latest OS release so this may have nothing to do with the network).

I'll add my voice to the current debate and do hope that Fido soon offers the Passport or Classic.  If not, the current sale from Amazon (US) or ShopBlackBerry is starting to be tempting to get an unlocked Passport.

As per the previous poster, has anyone been susccesful in setting one through Fido?  With two months left on the contract, this might be Goodbye Fido!

Of course it will work with Fido. Why would it not work? The Passport phone supports all all the carrier bands.Fido uses the same bands as Rogers.

I have been watching the phone offerings from Fido as well. Over the last few days, when you click on the BlackBerry link to use fido dollars to upgrade the phone, there is nothing to select. This is a very sad offering from Fido when the only device they constantly push is the iphone. I am Canadian, and I thought Rogers/Fido was as well. There are still some of us around who believe that supporting Canadian companies is a good thing. I am so disappointed right now, I can't speak. Sad

I can't believe Fido has dropped the BlackBerry line altogether. WTH?

Virgin Mobile is going to bring Blackberry Classic to their phone line-up. As a competitor, Fido has to catch up, bringing Passport for Fido's loyal customers to choose. Otherwise, customers will move on. Passport is so hot! It is sold out everywhere including Shop Blackberry and Amazon. Passport is a high demanding and best-in-class innovative phone.

Where did you hear that VM is going to get the BB Classic? I check mobilesyrup.com and no mention of it. They usually get this info first hand.

Crackberry.com
Crackberry is the place where Blackberry fans/loyalists can read news about Blackberry. You may download an app "CB10" from Blackberry World. Other than Crackberry, you can also subscribe to these BBM Channels : "Blackberry Empire" or "BerryFlow". Blackberry Empire gets Blackberry news at first hand than everyone does.

Waiting for the Passport - Can Fido please add the phone to their line-up.

I love the keyboard, high res screen and shape of the Passport screen.

I currently have the Samsung S3 and I phone 4. Camera sucks on S3, it is slow, and software is buggy. Iphones are too overpriced.

I don't know what the rep was thinking in their email response ... "We can simply say that new models are being tested on an on-going basis and are launched once they meet our strict quality standards". .......I simply don't know how Samsung S3 passed Fido's quality standards. It's a plastic phone and flexes very easily.

BB10 OS is solid and with BB10.3 OS, all Android apps will be fully compatible on the BB10.3 platform. And nothing beats the Blackberry HUB.

The Blackberry phones are for those who need productivity and not for playing games like Angry Birds.

Sorry for the rant, but this is how I feel... I just hope you'd bring in the Passport Happy

Hi Fido,

I've been checking regularly to see if there's any news on the Blackberry Passport. In light of its popularity will Fido be carrying it?

There is a thread that already exists on this topic. Fido cannot confirm whether they will carry it or not.

Thanks for your support, but I highly doubt Fido will budge on the Passport. I think they were not too impressed with sales from the Z10 when they carried it. Nevertheless, I will send an email to Fido to have them bring the BB Passport to their lineup.
