Voicemail problem

Hello,

 

I have an iphone 5s with the basic voicemail service.

 

When I setup my voicemail I pick the access code and then click # to bypass setting my greeting because I would like to keep the default greeting that say your number.

 

However, everytime I go to retrieve a voicemail it makes me pick my access code again it never seems to save the code.

The iphone is not recently new. I bought it directly from apple in October 2013, so it is unlocked. Used it for two months with my previous carrier until my contract ran out and then brought it to Fido

Do you have the possibility to place your SIM in another phone, preferably a Fido phone, and try to set it up?

If you have regular voicemail on your iPhone you shouldn't be using the Visual voicemail app on iPhone to connect to voicemail. You should be holding the "1" button for 2-3 seconds to access your voicemail.

 

If it still doesn't work with the "1" button then dial *5005*86*# to see the voicemail number programmed in your iPhone and note it down.

 

Call customer service to check if your voicemail deposit number matches your voicemail retrieval number. If your voicemail retrieval number is incorrect you can reprogram it by dialing *5005*86*XXXXXXXXXX# where XXXXXXXXXX is the correct voicemail retrieval number provided by Fido customer service.

 

If the numbers are correct then have them reinitilialize your voicemail. If that doesn't work they may have to remove it from your services and add it back.

 

Make sure you read all your voice messages before calling as you may lose them when they reinitilize or remove the voicemail.

 

 

 

After doing all that was mentioned above, does the voicemail now work? did this help resolve the issue?

Hi!

I have been a Fido customer since August 2014. My BYOD plan has the Voicemail included, but when I try to call Voicemail number (+1-416-821-6549) the system asks me to enter my 10-digit phone number followed by the # key. When I enter this system returns me an error "Sorry, the number isn't valid".

 

Btw, My wife has the same issue and we are both using Blackberry 9900.

Any suggestions?

You can bypass your greeting, but you cannot bypass your 4 digit access code. You must set one and enter it prior to accessing your voicemail.

This still doesnt help the problem.

 

I can set an access code and skip the greeting. Listen to my voicemail and hang up.

 

Go back to listen to a new voicemail  and it makes me pick an access code and a greeting again. It does not save the access code from the first time.

 

Did you recently start using a new phone? There may be a compatibility issue with your phone and the feature in question. The phone you're using, is it unlocked?
