Thinking about transferring. Any loyalty/retention plans?

Hey there,

I've been with Fido for many years now, but recently I found an offer from another carrier that is just too good to pass up.

I'll refrain from mentioning the specific carrier and the exact plan here, as I'm not sure if that's breaking any community rules.  Essentially, I'm paying roughly $35 extra a month staying with Fido when compared to the other carrier.

Just wondering if Fido has any retention plans for old customers before I go ahead and make the switch.

Edit* I have four lines on the account incase that makes any difference.

Hello Sse,

  Welcome to the community!

It's always a good idea to comparison shop. Just make sure those too good to pass up deals meet your needs. On the surface, the plans may seem similar but you might just end up not paying for what you're not getting.

For example, while Chatr uses the Rogers network, they do not provide LTE services. Most of the other mobile providers do not offer any 2G services. Koodo may only have access to one of Telus' LTE bands/frequencies (at least according to Wikipedia)...

In addition, what Freedom mobile's ads don't mention is that you more than likely will need to get a new phone if you wish to use their LTE network since relatively few phones use their band/frequency. If you live in Eastern Ontario, you might be able to use your current phone, but it won't be Traffic-free. Furthermore, their coverage is still rather limited -- if you're away from their Home network, you will be paying for roaming...

My intention is not to try to sway your decision in any direction. My only hope is that any decision you make is an informed one.

Hope this helps Smiley

Cheers

I was never able to reach the customer support to get the 10GB 60$ plan and when I actually get to speak to customer support, the very next day after the offer ended, they said the plan no loger exists. I never had a plan to leave Fido before all big players introduced the 60$ 10GB plan.

As I was busy with my work schedule, I never get a chance to google or look into all network providers website. As a loyal customer, I believe, I should get notified when exclusive offers show up.

I am currently on a 50$ plan, which has 3GB data on it.  I wanted a 500 MB or 1 GB for in addition to what I have currently. They told me I am having the best plan for the price. From the forum, I am very sure that people are getting much better plan than me for lesser price. As a customer with Fido for around 2 year, I expect, atleast  some consideration when I reach out to customer care.

First of all try to retain your customers before going after potential customers.

$50 for 3GB is pretty good if you compare it what Fido currently offers new customers...$55 for 1GB BOYD no subsidy or $65 for 1GB if you want a Small tab. I'm curious...is your $50 3GB a BOYD or Small/Medium category plan? That is, is your current plan a Bring-Your-Own-Device plan (no subsidy) or do you get a handset discount when you take a 2 year contract?

My plan is 50$ before tax, with 3GB data. I know people are having 6GB data for 55$, in my friend circle. One of the thing that I fealt really bad was, I never get any notification about the 60$ 10GB deal. Fido send some silly offers evey other occassion and when a good offer actually came in, they chose not to inform the existing customers. I don't have time to look into Fido website to see any offer is coming or not, I expect the provider to let me know if an offer is in the market.

I am waiting for next week, when my current month billing is done, to uncover the possibilities around. Next time Bell or Telus knocking the door with such an offer, I will be moving for sure

Hi @Matt04!

I'm sad to see that you're considering leaving us. Sad While we do send messages to our customers when we have offers specific to their account, it's not possible for us to send out messages to every single one of our customers every time we have a new offer available to everyone. Promotions are always updated on Fido.ca for this reason.

That said, if you'd like to go over your options, let me know and I'll send you a PM.

That PM wasn't necessary. It was a real bad offer, so I don't think we need to look into any special plans here after. I have made my mind. I  wasted my time that's it.

Now I know why people jumped to Bell when a good offer comes. I will do the same.

We definitely appreciate your loyalty @Matt04 and we'd hate to see you go!

Our offers are constantly changing, and it's always a good idea to keep an eye out on your Fido.ca account for any promos exclusive to you Smiley

If ever you'd like us to take a second look at things we'll be happy to continue in PM!

Exclusive offers? Was that a joke? In 2 years, the offer I offered was an iPhone 7 for 0 down for 2 years contract with monthly payment around 85-90.

I was was hoping for something better when somebody Send a PM, claiming the best offer around. Once you loose the credibility, then it’s difficult to get it back.

I'm really sorry to learn you're not satisfied with the offers you've received so far Matt04. We remain available if you'd like us to take a second look at your account.

Do you seriously expect customers to visit the website or app everyday or every week? I visit the website or app just to know my usage or paying the bill. Normally providers let the customers know, if any exclusive offer comes around. Last time I received an offer was to buy an Iphone 7, which I am already having. In short I have never received a good offer as you had in December for 10GB. If you could add 2 GB to existing plan, I would be happy.

Any way, let me know what other options are around. If you have any customizable option, let me know. I don't want to know plans that are on the website.

Thanks for the response by the way.

We`re here to help @Matt04, and we'd love to check out your options!

I'll send you a PM so we can take a look at your account Smiley

See you there!
