Texting troubles?

Is it just me or is there something up with the ability to send text messages? I keep on getting the message unable to deliver message or it takes many attempts to send?

Went to the fido kiosk at the mall today. They told me there's been issues going on with signal and texting.

System upgrades and tower changes and such.

Glad they could give me a straight answer instead of "have you tried resetting your phone?"

Thanks for the update. See, this is what Fido should have done, put up a notice on the front page alerting customers of service interruptions in specific areas and the during what dates.

I also found an android app (LTE On/Off) that takes you into a back menu for the phone (not sure why it's not openly available anymore) that allows you to select what type of network you connect to, like WCDMA, CMDA, evDO, and GSM, etc. (look it up for yourself).

Essentially, you have control over selecting 2g, 3g, 4g networks, etc.

I don't need/ have a data plan, so using "GSM only" gave strong 2g with better reliability for signal reception and better battery life because my radio wasn't constantly searching for a data signal.

Haven't had any problems so far.

I am currently experiencing the same problem too with my iphone 4.

Fido signal bar is FULL. 
WIFI is working well. 
I m on cityfido monthly plan, not prepaid.
Not on any texting/number block.

According to iphone setting>general>about> carrier is fido 11.0

 

BUT....


- SMS cannot be sent out to anyone other than myself.
( I tried sending sms to myself and it worked. As for sending to other people, the sms only stalled at "sending...." )

 

-  I cannot dial out nor received any phone call, including 611.

And yes, I am dialing correct 10-digit numbers.....

 

- I restarted my phone numerous time and it still wouldn't work.

 

This had happened 4 times within this week already. This problem usually last for 2-6 hours and this is getting quite annoying right now.

Someone please help me!!!

I would suggest that you try the troubleshooting found in this thread:

The thread is not on the same subject, but the troubleshooting would be the same.

If the issue persists, I'd suggest that you give us a call at 1-888-481-3436 from a phone other than your Fido while having the issue or that you go at an Apple store for further troubleshooting to be performed.
