Texting troubles?

Is it just me or is there something up with the ability to send text messages? I keep on getting the message unable to deliver message or it takes many attempts to send?

Thanks

Re: Texting troubles?

I have an Iphone 4, can't send any texts (I get an error as well) and I can't make or receive calls. I can RECEIVE texts though, which is odd. I've tried resetting my network, turning off phone. No dice. Nothing is working and I don't own a landline. Friend leaving for China was supposed to visit me tonight and I'm getting his texts but can't respond. Apparently the Ctrain is ALSO down, so I can't text and he's stranded. Lovely.

Re: Texting troubles?

Not just smart phones are having troubles, but also other feature phones are too. And this is a two weeks after you posted this article. Get your act together and tell us what's up because I am also getting messages saying I have attempted to access the internet using an application when I clearly have not.

Re: Texting troubles?

Fido can claim they're not having problems all they want, it doesn't change the fact that they do have an issue. Still having problems with both my and my dad's phone (both on Fido) and none of the above steps work because these reps don't understand those are just general useless tips. Sometimes texts don't go through and sometimes they do, it's totally random. It's like they get lost on the network and there's no specific pattern to the issue.

Re: Texting troubles?

I'm having this problem with my LG C800G phone. I can't find anywhere in the settings that gives a message centre phone number, although under call settings there's a voicemail setting that uses the number +15149921123 (not +15149931123!). I can't change that however.

Fido's technical support people could not deal with it (or wouldn't) and gave me an LG number to call. LG couldn't solve it either. I can't find a reference to this wrong number anywhere on my FIDO SIM card using yet another phone, and I can't change it on my LG phone. I had the same problem with my Nokia E73 phone earlier this week when I put my Fido SIM card into it to replace a French SIM card. I found there were two message centre numbers, one French and one Canadian (Fido's). I deleted the French number and bingo, I could send text messages. However, LG's software doesn't mention a message centre number, only a voicemail number. And Fido says they're the same number. But the LG software won't let me change that number, which I think is the root of the problem, so I'm stuck with the inability to send text messages and no one who will assume responsibility.
