What happened to getting text messages to notify me that my airtime is about to expire. I never got anything and I go to make a text today and suddenly I get a notification saying my balance is 0. I had $20 saved up which is now lost.

Those messages should still be received by you. If you do not receive them, I would highly suggest that you contact customer service to have them look into it for you. You can reach them at 611 from your Fido, options 4 - 4 - 1 from the Main Menu.
