Reception in Jasper AB

1. I'm moving to Jasper, AB on March 19.

So, I'd like to keep my phone, what should i do?

I mean i have to change my phone number, right?

How to do it?

2.I've seen a plan($40/monthly,1GB data,unlimeted takl and text).

I'd like to change my present plan from that plan.

So, how to do it?

Thank you.

Hello Jihun,

  Welcome to the forums!

Moving out West sounds exciting! However, just a word of caution: depending on where in Jasper you will live/work, you may or may not get cellular reception. Judging by this screen capture, there seems to be only one Rogers tower in the area.

Taken from here. I cannot vouch for accuracy.

If you know people who are there already, you might consider asking whether they get reception where you'll be.

  Hope this helps Smiley

Cheers

Hello again,

If you don't know anyone there using Fido/Rogers, you might consider waiting until you arrive to see whether you get reception where you would be. If you did get reception where you are to be living/working, you could then switch plans and numbers.

Cheers

Hi Jihun!

Thanks for the info, @Cawtau! Just took a look at the Fido coverage map and Jasper is fully covered. Yay! Smiley

As for changing your plan & phone number, I'll need to access your account to help you out. I'll send you a PM shortly.

Talk to you soon!

Hello @FidoMaria,

I am aware that the coverage map shows the area as fully covered, however the graphical representation is not very accurate. That is the reason I cautioned the OP with my earlier posts.

Cheers
