Hi I have the same problem on my Samsung Galaxy 6, I can't receive calls and texts are delayed. What can I do to resolve this? Is this a network or phone problem?

Hello joymariesyw!

In the meantime, you can try the steps from my previous post. That should help!

A future OS update should resolve this issue, we are working with Samsung in order to resolve this ASAP.

We've got another thread that we'll be updating as soon as we receive news, so keep an eye out!

Yeah I agree, I had the issue with calls going straight to voicemail on LTE before the update. The update made it even worse and stopped me even getting text messages on time. So I was missing calls that went straight to voicemail and then the text to notify me of the missed call didn't come in until a few hours later!!

I'm on 4g now, but it is so slow and I am paying for 6GB a month of LTE!

I too would like some sort of compensation. I've only had this phone 6 months and I'm stuck in my contract and the phone doesn't work as advertised. With LTE enabled it doesn't even work as a phone!

A month's payment in credit would be nice, that's assuming that the issues are resolved quite quickly, it's been almost a month already!

Hey yolo22!

Try this:

  • Toggle Wi-Fi on and off.
  • Disable background Wi-Fi
    • Settings – Wi-Fi – menu – Advanced – set Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep to Never

That should fix the problems until we get an update from Samsung.

For the compensation, we will look at what can be done once the problem is resolved, we're working with Samsung and our network partners to resolve it as soon as possible.

This is pretty crazy seeing how many people are experiencing the same issues as I am. Do you think we can get our last monthly bill waved, seeing as my phones been useless for the past 4 weeks?

Hi oliver_c!

I'm sending you a private message; talk to you soon. Smiley

I have been having the same issue on my S6 for the past three weeks, and changing my network settings to GSM/HSPA does not appear to have significantly improved the issue. I am still having difficulty sending and receiving texts, most incoming calls are going straight to voicemail, and I am often unable to make outgoing calls.

The fact that the problem has been going on so long for so many people is unacceptable. I expect more from Fido and am not impressed that we have simply been told to wait this out. Being unable to use our phones to make and receive calls and texts is absurd. I hope Fido intends to waive or at the very least discount the monthly bills for those of us who have essentially been without service for weeks.

I hope a solution is coming soon. I have been a happy and loyal Fido customer for several years now but the response to this problem has been disappointing.

Hey everyone,

Some customers who have updated their Samsung GS6 or GS6 edge to Android 5.1.1 with build number ending in “0I6” are intermittently unable to receive voice calls or SMS.

The current workaround is to disable LTE in the Phone Network Settings by going to SettingsMore networksMobile NetworksNetwork Mode - choose GSM/HSPA.

We’ll send a text message to everyone who is affected once the fix is available and pushed from Samsung suggesting that you perform the update and re-enable LTE if it was disabled.

That's all well and good except that disabling LTE isn't solving the problem for many of us. I understand that Fido and Samsung are working on the problem but in the meantime it's unaccpetable that so many people are without working cell phones. We need a better solution.

Sorry to hear that oliver_c. We're currently working around the clock with Samsung and our network partners to resolve it as soon as possible. Fido is not providing adjustments due to this issue with the Samsung GS6 or GS6 edge devices.

Hey admin... I'm not sure what Fido thinks is happening but I'm tempted to call on this whole update issue. I have now put my sim card in my old Moto X and guess what? II STILL don't receive calls or texts.

I've been having the same issue. Wife sends me a text message at 10pm, then i get it at midnight. Calls drop, lte keeps dropping. I can't see why this still hasn't been fixed. Not sure who to blame, Samsung, Fido, Google? This is my first foray into the world of android coming over from an iphone and this is brutal. Although Apple had it's own sets of problems when they came out with an update, if it was serious, it would be fixed in a few days whereas we've had to wait more than half a year for the 5.1.1 update only to have it mess up our phones. Why are we paying for LTE when it's not even available to us?!

i have the S6 and the 5.1.1 update. having the same issue with SMS delays (delays being as long as 6 hours) and calls not ringing and going straight to voicemail. has been happening for the past week or 2. very annoyed.

Hey everyone, we've had a confirmation that some Samsung Galaxy S6 users may be experiencing issues with their device after downloading the latest Android 5.1.1 software update.

We're working with Samsung and our network partners to resolve it as soon as possible.

Thanks again for everyone's patience.
