Overage fee for the 6GB data plan?

I am reaching close-ish to 6GB and I still got more than two weeks until the month resets... so how much does it cost when I go over? I can't seem to find this information anywhere.

Re: Overage fee for the 6GB data plan?

Please note that there were several 6Go add ons offered over the last years. Some if them had different prices. Call customer service to know which rate do you have.
And no point arguing about the rates, if you got just like OP a high rate when you go over compared to the ones today, well you also get to have an old add on.
You can keep the old 6go,but you going to pay what fido used to charge years ago.

Re: Overage fee for the 6GB data plan?

Hi there soulsaber, sorry for the lateness of our reply.

The over usage rate for the 6GB data option is: 0.50$/MB for the first 60MBs. 0.03$/MB thereafter.

Re: Overage fee for the 6GB data plan?

So, the first 6GB is half-a-cent  per MB.  The next 60MB is 50 cents per MB.  The next 60MB is 3 cents per MB.

In other words, Fido is charging users not double, not triple, not even ten times, but *one hundred times* the usual rate, for going over the 6GB cap.  Then, after 60MB it mysteriously drops to a mere *sixteen times* as expensive as the usual rate.

By having such punitive overage fees, is Fido trying to prevent customers from using its data services? Or simply price-gouging?

Re: Overage fee for the 6GB data plan?

I  just phoned Fido because I'm over on my 500mb plan. They're charging $0.05/mb. Perhaps the $0.50/mb was a typo?

Re: Overage fee for the 6GB data plan?

it's definitely NOT a typo. i just had a charge of $23.46 show up on my account for going over my 6GB data plan by 46.73MB.. this is not acceptable and i will be cancelling my service if they don't rectify this.

I was just charged 35.41$ for 233.52MB. This is outrageous. I'll be making my phone call tomorrow.

Re: Overage fee for the 6GB data plan?

Is this overage fee specific to the 6GB plan as opposed to all other data plans? As per Fido's website, it would appear that data overage fees are 3 cents/megabyte for all other data plans.  Is this a mistake, and if not, why is the rate drastically different for this plan?

Re: Overage fee for the 6GB data plan?

The way the telecom companies are operating seems dishonest in so many ways, including this.

Why should the price of data be so arbitrary?

How can you justify charging 100X the standard rate for anything?

Re: Overage fee for the 6GB data plan?

Hi there,

Just curious where I would find these details for what charges are applicable to the specific plan.  I've looked extensively on the site and the Manage my plan area and not been successful.

Can you help direct me?
