I would like to know if Fido WiFi calling is available on my onepls 5. I don't seem to have this option on my phone.

Hey there @Skywalkerblue06, thanks for posting!
At the moment, Wi-Fi calling is offered on the following Android phones purchased from Fido:
For iPhones, it's available on iPhone iPhone 5c/5s and above that are running iOS 9.0 or above.
The option is not available on unlocked phones such as the OnePlus 5 at the moment; these devices are not provisioned for our network. That said, if the phone is not a Fido phone, we unfortunately cannot add the IMEI as it's not in our database of devices.
I hope that info helps!
It's unlikely to work, as this device was never available through Fido. We can certainly try to add the IMEI for you, but please note that there's no guaranty that it will work or that we will even be able to add it.
I don't want to be a negative Nelly; I just want to manage your expectations.
That said, I’d be happy to send you a PM to try it.
Expect to hear from us soon!
For VoLTE or Voice over WiFi to work, Carriers need to give the MIS register information to OnePlus. OnePlus needs to put into the firmware. Canadian carriers don't seem or don't want to hand out the MIS information to third party cellphone makers because they cannot make any money on it. If Canadian carriers carry OnePlus for sell, it will more likely Canadian carriers will control the OnePlus selling price. At that time, you will see two versions of OnePlus. Expensive one ($1000+) will sell from Canadian carriers (with WiFi or VoLTE calling). The cheaper version ($600+) will sell from OnePlus website (no WiFi or VoLTE calling)
Money, Money and Money
I couldnt agreed more its all about money. People are coming here and wasting their time on this forum which Fido or any carrier in Canada will not listen to you unless they make profit out of it. So much big 3 claim to have faster and better network its all B.S even third world country like India offer Volte to unlock phone.
Hey @Gillie and Community!
Wi-Fi calling really does only work with Fido devices at this time. In terms of the OnePlus 5, it is not a phone we've offered in the past. For this reason, adding the IMEI of this device to a Fido account is not possible as it's not something we've offered and these IMEI's do not exist in our system.
To provide some more info, Wi-Fi calling will only work on these Androids if they are purchased from Fido:
As the OnePlus5 is not in the list, and it is not a phone we offer, there is no way to activate the service on that device.
I do hope this info helps out, adding the IMEI of a non-Fido phone to a Fido account will however not be possible at this time.
