Mobile Internet

Hello everyone,

I have nokia c6. I have few doubts regarding mobile internet.

If i activate mobile internet on my mobile and if i use applications like Whatsapp, Skype, Google Maps, Fring and so on, will i be charged for data used though those applications? Is it counted as browsing too? Or will it be free for me?

Please do let me know.

Thanks in advance.

@ MontrealFido: Please note that every applications (except MobileMail and instant messaging applications) are included in the UMB option. WhatsApp and Skype are covered by the UMB option.

Re: Mobile Internet

Fido: Nokia C6-00

The Nokia C6-00 is NOT in the Smartphone section of the FIDO site.
Therefore Unlimited Mobile Browsing applies to this phone, you can get it as a stand-alone option $10.00 or as part of $15.00 Value Pack.  But you still have to pay for Games & Themes, Ringtones.

Re: Mobile Internet

From the FIDO Site Re: UMB

Enjoy the full mobile browsing experience including one-click access to popular sites such as Google, Yahoo!, Windows Live, Facebook and more. Use of data applications (i.e. Gmail, GoogleMaps) is also covered with these add-ons.

So It seems that WhatsApp,skype should be covered

Re: Mobile Internet

Thanks for resosponding REN

Thats what is mentioned: Get unlimited mobile browsing and applications use for your mobile phone (i.e. non-smartphone). Is just Gmail and Google Maps free or all?

I hope all apps are included, i had asked  customer care, and even they werent sure about it.

Re: Mobile Internet

MontrealFido, Mobile mail is an application fido offers to check your email that you wont incur a data charges or need a data plan, however you will need a monthly subscription fee which i think is $5 a month,  if you use Skipe, it will work as fidojudy is talking about another program called FidoIM which is also similar to mobile mail, it requires seperate subscription

what fidojuhdy means is if you use these specific programs, they wont work alone with the unlimited onddevice browsing,  since skipe is not one of these, your OK
