Why would anyone reserve an iPhone SE with Fido without knowing the cost?

The reservation system is a way to avoid chaos at the stores and not make you waste time going to stores just to find out they do not have any in stock. Once you reverve one you are not obligated to get it you can just refuse if the price do not meet your needs and the phone will go to the next person in line.

Fido, why can't I get a 5SE on a smart plan?

I have a great smart plan that I don't want to ever give up. I might as well buy direct from Apple instead.

Hey @WallMan!

Who said you can't? The iPhone SE is available with any plan, the subsidy might change depending on the plan you choose.

In your case, there's no subsidy for a Smart plan, you can still purchase it full price Wink

We know our Smart plan is compatible with the iPhone 5SE. We just want some sort of device discount for taking a 2 year agreement with our grandfathered Smart plan. Otherwise, if I can buy the device at full cost, why would I take a 2 year agreement? In a years time, the iPhone 5SE will likely be available under a Smart plan similar to the iPhone 5S and 6 currently being offered with Smart plan pricing. It's just business, but there should be some sort of device discount even if it's small when we sign a 2 year agreement on a Smart plan.

@nick67 understands my question completely.

I guess I should have been more explicit with the question.

Why is there no subsidy on the SE when signing a 2 year smart plan?

Or more specifically, I would like to know how much subsidy is available IF I were to renew my EXISTING SMART plan. This is the one with 2GB of Data and unlimited calling and texting that was offered back in winter 2012 for $56/mth. If there is no subsidy, which is from what I see in this thread and on the Fido website, then I don't even see why you have the option of showing a full price device cost and have to sign a 2 year agreement. You should just have it show on a Max plan and then just full price.

Just curious. My Moto Rzr HD is so slow, but that's another story.

@WallMan

That's how we built our pricing structure for that phone. In a couple of months it should be available with a subsidy on Smart and Standard plan.

I guess, it answers the question: ''how much is the iPhone SE on a Smart plan''. We have that a lot!

Our prayers have been answered...Smart plan pricing!

$99 on a 2-year Max plan

$249 on 2-year SMART plan

Thank you Fido Smiley

My plan is voice with extra data added, is that considered as SMART plan?

We will have to wait a bit until Fido announce the pricing so far we can only reserve it, no pricing as yet.
