I'm going through a separation, and I had to port my number to another carrier. I had a Galaxy s6 tied to this number and it triggered a DSRF. Before I did this, I ported the ex's number to my account, and asked a rep by phone if what I was doing was permitted, he said yes it was.
Now i have a bill with a near 400.00 DSRF on it, and the rep claims there is no way to fix this. All i want to do is have the new number fulfil the remainder of the contract. Please help me, Fido!

If you ported our your number, the fee applies. The only way to avoid it is to either transfer your number to the person or have them port in their own number on top of it.
The agreement is on your number, not on the account.
I hope this clarifies things
