I'm thinking it's time to go as well.

Fido is Fido and the Fido I knew is not as it used to be.  Service has declined since my coming over to Fido more than 10 years ago.  I had been with Rogers for 14 years prior.

It's time for an upgrade since Dec /14.  I still await the HTC One M9, it'll probably be a year old and the new phones will be announced.  I too have been looking at getting a cheaper plan perhaps with Wind.  My son has Wind and he has been happy with it now for more than a year.  I've also been looking at Koodo a division of TELUS, I've seen the LTE speeds on their phones.. quite impressive!  I have a total of 4 lines with Fido, too bad they can't get the Hardware that I would like to have!

My outdated Motorola Razr HD LTE (XT925) is done, time for a new phone.

Good luck / phone hunting.

Hello Nutech,

I'm sure Fido will be sad to see you go.

Interesting comments though... You're considering Wind even though they do not currently have a LTE network. Perhaps LTE isn't important to you, but you sounded impressed with Koodo's LTE speeds.

You also mentioned you're looking at Koodo, but I do not see the HTC ONE M9 in their current line-up either. Maybe the website isn't as up-to-date as in stores.

Anyways, I just found those comments rather intriguing since your apparent reason for leaving Fido was because they do not carry that phone.

Best of luck with your hunt Smiley

Cheers

BTW, as far as

" I'm sure Fido will be sad to see you go."

I'm sure with one less customer won't make too much of a difference!

Not that I want to open something up here or perhaps I already have! Smiley

Whereas Wind doesn't have LTE they of course have the phone I'd like to be using.  Koodo does of course have TELUS LTE, and once again no phone I'd like to use!

FIDO, LTE isn;t that great!  Perhaps its the device i'm currently using for the last 2 1/2 years?!  The closest phone to worth having, I guess would be the galaxy S6.... without all the unecessary Samsung apps installed on it, it might be worth having.

Just my two cents!

As an aside one of the reps at a local Fido store is using the M9. He got it from the Rogers rep. I told him wow that must be nice. Maybe Rogers can let the rest of us have access to one as well.

I've been patiently waiting to upgrade my phone. I would really like to get the HTC one m9. Telus, Koodo, Bell, and Rogers all carry the phone. Why isn't it available on Fido? Will it be available on Fido any time soon?

Hi nattyb Smiley

We don't have any information on the M9 at this moment and we appreciate your interest and feedback.

Keep an eye our list of phones for updates: http://www.fido.ca/web/page/portal/Fido/devices

Take care.

Does the HTC One m8 still exist in FIDO?

Hi Decatitos, welcome to the community!

The HTC One M8 is discontinued but might still be found in some store who haven't run out of stock yet Smiley

I'm so choked about this. I've been waiting for the m9 to be released and now the m8 isn't even available. Bell, Koodo, Rogers, and Telus all carry the one m9. I don't understand why Fido doesn't carry it.

Check out WIND mobile.  They carry the M9!

I've been a FIDO customer for 10 years now, currently have 4 lines with FIDO!  I guess soon it'll become 3 lines as I've been due to upgrade since December and am sick of the Motorola XT925 phone I've had for the last 2 1/2 years.

Like many I've been waiting the arrival of the M9.

Hey Nutech.

We would hate to see you go!

We aren't able to comment on devices that haven't been officially announced as part of our lineup. If we will be offering this model, it will be announced here on our phones page as soon as we know. Keep an eye out and check back from time to time.

That said, you also always have the option to use any unlocked device with your Fido plan.  You could purchase the device from a third party, have it unlocked and simply insert your Fido SIM card.

Hope this helps!

Sadly WIND mobile is a pathetic provider. If they weren't everybody would jump to WIND. If it's too good to be true it usually is and that's the case with WIND. Awful spotty coverage, lousy data speeds and if you manage to use enough data they throttle back their already awful speed making it basically unusable.

Hi there, Shumi!

We'd hate to see you go Sad Could there be a different phone you might be interested in: www.fido.ca/phones? I will go ahead and send you a PM so that we can further discuss this.

Keep in mind also you can always bring an unlocked phone to our network and benefit from a BYOP plan: http://bit.ly/1IEpBX1.

Talk to you soon Smiley

Not picking on the moderator (it's not like she's the product planner for Fido) but simply suggesting other devices seems disingenuous . Customers want what they want and that's especially true with smartphones. They're a status symbol nowadays. Sure many phones will perform the same functions but the M9 is such a beautiful piece of gear. I understand Fido is Rogers budget carrier but what irks me is the budget carriers of Telus and Bell don't seem to get hamstrung when it comes to the newest devices. That's the question I'd love answered. I'm sick of jumping through hoops to end up with the phone I desire. When budget carriers like Wind Mobile can carry the flagship devices while Fido peddles the Nokia 830 it really leaves me scratching my head.

Well said Mike. Just have to ignore the corporate/sales speak. Suggesting another phone is fine, but only after apologizing that they do not carry the phone you requested. I too, am interest in the HTC M9.
