Going over data

Okay...seriously. I'm so frustrated. I use my Shaw open wifi everywhere I can, yet Fido is saying I use 7.5 gigs of data. How is this even possible. Nobody I know uses this much data. What can I do? It doesn't make any as sense to me. How do we prove this isn't the case.

Re: Going over data

Hi @Walters1 & welcome to the Community!

We only track usage on our network. If you were on WiFi, we wouldn't see this usage and therefore wouldn't bill you for it.

What phone are you using? Have you checked your settings to see if any apps have been using data?

Re: Going over data

Hi @Walters1 are you using an Apple or Android device? The reason I ask is because "Wi-Fi Assist" is a feature that is enabled automatically on the iPhone. What happens is when you have bad wi-fi coverage your phone will switch to cellular & use your data. There's also a same similar feature on Android devices called "Smart Network Switch" but the user needs to enable it. Hope this information helps....
