Fido dollars reduced?

I've read somewhere that the rate of collecting Fido Dollars is being reduced. Is that true? Unfortunate if so. This and the move to per minute billing a couple weeks ago make me think customers are perhaps not valued as much as they used to be. Odd, given the new competition.

If you guys are still taking suggestions, here are mine for returning to days when your customers were your best sales people:

-Fido dollars back to 5%

-Fido Dollars treated as cash. No restrictions on what Fido products or services they can be used on, i.e. no contract required, used for accessories, etc.

-Per second billing back

-Get rid of stacked contracts

-get rid of LCA's and consider all of Canada to be one LCA

-get rid of zones for City Fido

-Include CID/VM in all plans

-2 year contracts, max ( I know, impossible, but I need to mention it)

ARPU is shrinking. That's a given. There is no going back to the old days of feeding at the trough. Wouldn't it be better to try to attracted more customers instead of trying to bleed the ones you have for more? Although there have been some positive changes at Fido, most either seem really superficial, or for every positive offering there is a necessary trade off. People expect value for their money, yet it seems the value is being reduced. It's like one step forward, 4 steps back. Remember they hype around being a Fido customer 10 or 15 years ago? We knew, unquestionably, we were getting the best value in the country and we shared this with out friends and family. People were excited to be with Fido, much as there is excitment around the new carriers. It's time to bring that hype back to Fido. Don't try to just barely meet your competitors, beat the snot out of them and offer the best value without tradeoffs and gotchas. Just sell value. People will respond to that.

Anyway, just my 2 cents (funny this started as a question about Fido Dollars)

Re: Fido dollars reduced?

Seriously? Two major reductions in one year, unreal Fido. Any good news coming? @ Reps?

Also, reducing benefits and increasing fees will temporarily lead to more revenue but in the longrun less satisfaction among customers and less incentives for new customers. Thus, in the end, you end up with less customers period. Less customers, less revenue, and the need for more revenue leads to cuting benefits and increasing fees again and again. aka Downward spiral.

Re: Fido dollars reduced?

Not just that, what you can get for your Fido dollars seems to be less.

My request is that Fido re-implement the travel packs they used to offer instead of replacing them with more 'expensive' ones. 30 texts for 15 Fido dollars is the only option now, whereas I used to get the 75 texts for 25 Fido dollars. It would be a good move in order to keep existing customers...

Re: Fido dollars reduced?

Hi mpia,

I'm unsure where you heard or saw that we only offer one text messaging travel pack now, but that is untrue. Click here to view the international text messaging travel packs, and here for the US ones.

Perhaps you had clicked on Redeem FidoDOLLARS™ and since your FidoDOLLARS balance would only cover the basic one, the others weren't displayed?

I hope this helps.

Re: Fido dollars reduced?

Hey roxanna!

From your post, I believe that you are a prepaid customer. Please note that to use your FidoDOLLARS™ against a prepaid refill, you need to have $20 plus tax in FidoDOLLARS™. For example, if you live in Ontario, in order to have a $20 refill applied to your account using your FidoDOLLARS™, you would need to have $22.60 of them.

I hope this clarifies.
