I've been with Fido for almost 20 years. Yesterday I relunctantly made the decision to leave! I travel to the U.S. every few months and can't stand being ripped off. All major carriers have come up with roaming plans that allow you for a few dollars a day to use your current package in the U.S. Even Rogers, fido's parent company has had roam like home since november 2014...! Enough is enough! I can already anticipate the replies to my post from Fido:
"We do not have any information on whether or not we will offer a similar service at this time but you can follow us on Facebook or Twitter for updates!"
we wouldn't want to see you go. Unfortunately we can't comment or speculate on upcoming products before an official announcement is made. We will definitely keep you in the loop!

Btw, please tell management at customer service to stop asking clients if they can call us by our first name when we call, it's really annoying!

Sorry to see that you decided to leave, specially after 20 years with us.
On our end, we can only offer you the available options we have. In this case, it would be travel packs and data passes.
This is all depending on the type of usage that you do when you go to the U.S.
We appreciated your feedback about the customer service. I will make sure to forward your comments to the people in charge.

I'm running into the same issue with Fido. I have been with them for many years now, and have multiple phone lines with them. Rogers and Bell are both offering me plans for less than what I currently pay, and I could take advantage of the Roam like home which I need for my business. Thankfully I'm not on a contract so can make the switch without penalty. It would be great if they could offer the same service their parent company offers because I would rather not go through the hassle of switching.
I can confidently say that we're always working on something new, and trust me I'd love to say that we'll have everything you need by... tomorrow! But as you probably already know, we only release information at the very last minute and there's no way to guarantee we'll offer a particular option.
