Fido Roam charge question

I am going on holiday soon and will be in the USA. I have a Fido Plus plan so I know I will pay $5.00 a day to roam. On one of those days, I will leave the USA in the morning, cross back into Canada, and then be back in USA roaming area that afternoon. Will I be charged for one day or for two?

Hi @SunnyLorraine & welcome to the Community. Smiley

Since it's valid for 24 hours, you'd only be billed once.

Cheers!

Re: Fido Roam charge question

I have found that Fido is asking a bit too much for chargning customers $10 a day on international roaming.  Everyone can simply just buy a sim card when he is aboard to avoid this crazy charge.

Of course that assumes the phone or device is unlocked...

Re: Fido Roam charge question

I'm on a Canadian plan and just got billed for $10 roaming on 2 occasions, the only time I was overseas with my phone on was in the LA airport, and I didnt accept any roaming?

I thought it was $5 also, could anyone tell me what $10 roam would be for?

Thanks,

M

Re: Fido Roam charge question

Hey @Maple and welcome to the community!  Smiley

Have you had a chance to download the full version of your bill to see exactly what was charged? You can get more info on how to do that here.

For FidoRoam, the charge is $5 per day in the US and can be triggered by a call being made or received, an outgoing text, or connecting to an American data network.

You'd be able to confirm this on the full version of the bill, it'll give you the date of the FidoRoam charge so you can see if it goes over 2 days Smiley

If you have other questions, don't hesitate to reach out so we can review the bill together!
