FIDO LTE NETWORK SPEED

Just signed up LTE plan today, found out speed is far slow than the home internet speed               LTE                     HOME

Download : 46.16 Mbps      94.48 Mbps

Upload       : 1.19 Mbpds      10.78 Mbps

From above result, will Fido do something for mobile internet speed? In my mind LTE speed is like rocket but it is not, very upset.

Hello Rickytcho,

 Welcome to the community!

There are a couple of things to note. Firstly, there are a number of factors that can affect LTE speed, including the band/frequency to which the device is connected and its location relative to the cellular towers, to name a few.

That said, the numbers you posted would be typical for LTE at the moment. Most users commonly experience speeds ranging from 12 to 40 Mbps. The theoretical maximum speeds of 150 Mbps (cat 4) or 300 Mbps (cat 6) can only really be achieved with carrier aggregation (LTE-Advanced). As of this post here, it does not appear that Fido offers LTE-A yet. Once they do offer carrier aggregation, you will also require a compatible LTE-A phone to achieve those speeds.

 Hope this helps Smiley

Cheers

@Rickytcho The LTE plan you are referring to is it a cellphone plan?

Hi there @Rickytcho

Thanks for reaching out & joining the Fido Community.

Have you tried to un-plug your modem & plug it back, to see if you spot a difference?

This sometimes helps get the speed up back up, in certain cases!

Let me know how that goes Smiley
