Extended Coverage Data Unusable

I recently traveled across BC on vacation. While in areas without Fido coverage the network correctly switched over to the Extended Coverage partners, data in this mode was almost completely unusable. Despite having a strong 4-5 bar signal the 3G data would continually cut in and out whenever I would try to use a feature such as Google Maps which needs to access the data network.

Yes data roaming was enabled. The problem wasn't that I couldn't connect at all, but rather that even in areas of strong (Telus) extended service (for example Barriere BC) with full signal strength, that as soon as I would use a function that required data, such as accessing a web page, the 3G symbol would often disappear and loose all network connectivity, only to reappear/reconnect seconds later in a repeating cycle.

Hey chrisck!

That definitely doesn't sound right. I'll send you a PM so we can check it out together. Smiley

Hey @chrisck, hope you enjoyed your trip!

Was your data roaming enabled? You won't be able to connect if it's disabled.
