Can't connect prepaid Fido to profile/account

I've been trying to set up my prepaid phone for hours but have experienced constant errors and website outages along the way, including not accepting credit card payment, without a clear explanation why. Now I get an error message every time I enter the four digit code sent to my phone when trying to link it to my profile. I receive the code on my phone immediately, but when I enter it I get the error message: "Uh oh … an error occurred trying to link this account. Please check your code and try again." I've had new codes sent and get the same error every time. I can't access my account without it accepting the code, so I have no way to pay. I tried calling customer service, but of course it was closed and directed me back to the website, which is still giving errors. Out of ideas at this point.

Hi Alyson,

 

Today the code worked, then the website refused to accept credit card payment and said to update the billing address. When I did that, it gave more errors and wouldn't let that go through either. I tried live chat, and they told me they couldn't help me because I'm a prepaid customer. So I called and verified my credit card info to the Fido representative on the phone, and she told me I have to wait another 24 hours before I can pay with my credit card. Then she tried to sell me a monthly plan instead of the prepaid service I signed up for.

 

That'll make it four days just to activate a prepaid phone 😕 I know there's nothing you can do about this so this isn't directed at you at all, but the whole process has just been terrible.

 

Edit: And now when I try to reply here I get another website error asking if I'm "lost". Seems about right.

I am trying to access MyAccount, it was fine until the new update was made.

 

I cannot even link my phone number to my e-mail.

 

CanI reach you at a number as the pre-paid department has no idea what is going on

What happens when you try to access your My Account? Do you get an error message? 

 

What do you mean exactly when you say you can't link your phone number to your email? What is it you're trying to do?

I am trying to connect my phone number to my e-mail for access to Fido My Account and I keep getting an error;

Im trying to Connect a prepaid phone. I'm on the link account page, I enter my number, click send me a code, and then get. "Uh oh … an error occurred trying to link this account. Please check your code and try again."  This after I spent 3 hours waiting for customer serice and then spending two hours talking to them online. I am incredibly close to giving up and just switching to a different provider.

Are you guys referring to the registration page? The page where you're asked to enter your email address, choose a password and a secret question?

gotta agree, horrible customer service. it's time to change providers I think. after 2 pages of reading what the problem is, there's still no solution

this is the most absurd customer service I have ever witnessed. Here is a documented ticket# for the backend team that customer service provided #C105134510
