Fido secretly implemented a $2 Paper Invoice Fee. This fee gets automatically added to your bill when you do the following, either 1) price plan change, or 2) agreement date change. So if the fee doesnt get you now, it will get you later when you renew your contract and get a new shiny iphone 5G.
To all Present and Former Fido employees, why is this $2 paper invoice fee being secretly implemented? What was wrong with the previous condition for any new Fido GARDEN plan, you will have the paper invoice fee added. Fido was known to have the grandfather clause, and they were GOOD at it. Now it seems nothing is grandfathered anymore, and new fees can creap up on you at any time.
Your services with Fido are not changing whether you choose to go to online billing or remain on paper invoicing. The paper fee charges only apply if you don’t want to go on online billing at the time you’re requesting a change on your account; and it is the Care representative, the store agent or the fido.ca messages that are notifying you of applicable charges. Fido customers can choose to receive a monthly paper invoice, if this suits their needs better. Should you choose to do so, you will be charged $2 on a monthly basis and all the money collected is given back to Evergreen to plant trees. However, we strongly encourage customers to choose online billing - a much more convenient billing method. In 2009, Fido was able to save over 4.58 tons of paper and with the revenues collected, and helped plant 30,000 trees. Fido is not the only company moving towards online billing. This is also the strategy of other service carriers in Canada. If you change your price plan from a grandfathered plan offered prior to November 4th, 2008, or renew / sign a new Fido agreement, the $2 paper invoice fee will then be charged.
oh well for you were only $2 I ask because their web site have been no working since 15 days ago and I need to pay the bill and they told me $4!!!! I am really pist off because I work I have no time to go to fido and pay the phones, seriously when contracts end I am gonna change to rogers, this people are not serious
dont go for paper billing then. Its not rocket science. Download your monthly invoice, and print it out at home if you need to. Not that hard, and you save yourself the "fee" for paper. At least FIDO is using this fee to plant new trees. What does rogers do with it?
Jan, its not about me not wanting to use online billing, its the principal behind the logic of them forcing us away from paper billing. i am paying a monthly fee and expecting a level of service, now i will have to pay more for the same level of service because fido thinks i should check my bill on a computer screen instead of in person but they still collect the money from me that went toward printing those bills. that money does not go towards planting trees hope u know. thats all profit for them. the EXTRA $2 they want to charge me is what goes towards planting trees. get the facts correct.
Gotta agree with Paolo on this one. Simply by not sending a paper bill, Fido saves hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars a year. This is before charging us the extra fee. The could take a portion of these extra profits and donate it to plant trees and never increase the customer rates. The tree planting is a distraction. It is meant to make you feel good about getting less or paying more for the same, when the ONLY reason it was done was for increased profits for Fido.
