What currently availalbe phones have an FM Radio enabled?

Some web sites list Fido models as having an FM radio, when Fido's website does not list such a feature being available. 

Which current phones sold by Fido have FM Radios? I want to make sure that the Fido versions do not have the radio disabled for some reason.

At the moment, none of the phones we carry include an FM radio feature. 

Keep an eye on Fido.ca. If this changes, you'll see this feature listed in the specifications page for the phone you're interested in. 

Do you have a Pulse plan? Have you thought about giving Spotify a try?

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you!

We currently don't carry any devices with FM radio enabled. You can always add an app that allows you to listen to the radio.

Thanks for the FM Radio update. eight months later, I would like to know if Fido's version of the LG G4 has an FM Radio? What about the Xperia M4 and LG G3?

The Sony Xperia M4 is FM Radio enabled but the LG G3 and the LG G4 are not.

How come the LGG4 does not have the  FM radio enabled? I use to have the Nokia that did. I changed phones and now I can't get the radio. Just wondering why some do and some don't. Thanks Cee1

Welcome to the community  We're always looking to offer our customers new features on their devices. Enabling FM chips in our smartphone lineup requires the support of the device manufacturers and we're working with them on any plans they have for FM radio.

Thanks for the update. I was about to buy the LG3 at a Costco store, but the clerk helpfully looked up the model numbers online, and determined that the Fido model does NOT support FM radio.

This is disappointing, as I was leaning on moving away from Sony towards LG.

Why would Rogers, with a strong FM broadcasting presence, want to reduce its broadcast market?

Why is this information hidden? The Fido.ca website does not list actual model numbers, so it is impossible to cross-check specs online. (The clerk at the Costco store actually had to look at the box to determine the model number. The demo sw version of the LG3 does not even allow access to the HW Info tab under Settings!)

Can you explain why Fido would want us not to be able to listen to Rogers-owned FM radio stations when we are out of data range?

We offer wireless services, if you want to listen the radio we can offer you some data so you can use radio apps for that matter. 

The fact that some phones have an FM antenna is an added value to the phone, but it's not a feature we support!

That is very strange. Fido's owner Rogers owns a lot of radio stations, and I could be listening to some of them on the radio. If you make me download an app and pay for data, I'm sure to listen to a commercial-free stream, and not a Rogers station.

The bottom ;ine is that most phones already contain the FM radio hardware at no extra cost, yet Fido, among other North American carriers, chose to disablew the hardware. This amounts to a form of false advertising, since a google search of most of your phones will show that other variants WITH THE SAME NAME have the radio included.

So this is a money grab, pure and simple. One of the things that makes the G4 attractive for me is that it is supposed to have FM capability. Frankly, I'm not happy with any of the current cell phone providers available in Canada.

No, I'd say that FM reception is just not a feature that factors in the decision to carry a phone or not. I don't think a meeting ever went like this:

I would venture a guess that there simply isn't much demand for it. Which would be supported by the very few numbers of phones that have that feature (all phones - not just those carried by Fido).

Respectfully?  Um ya, no.  Research would indicate that just because one does not know phones have an FM receiver doesn't mean lots of people do NOT know it.  Everywhere I've traveled in Europe, it is well known. 
As for the meeting?  Think Apple iPhone. 
Alter the dialogue, & you can bet your bottom cahoona a meeting or two did go like that~!

Few phones in Canada. But most phones in the rest of the world. 

This is all the more strange given that two of the dominant carriers own the most FM stations in the country as well.
