1)When I open the app and make an IM account; it brings me to the contact list; but it says "-failed-" for each of my online contacts. I cannot see who specifically is online. All of my contacts' details are only in the offline section.
2) Another problem I encountered a few days ago is that Fido IM now say to "please try again later" and won't let me sign in to my MSN account either.

I would suggest you call our customer service department have them take a look at your options and make sure there is no block for you IM on acc.
Also for you IM app maybe try resseting the application on your phone see if it helps.

My IM application and option isnt blocked on the Fido network.
I reseted my phone and cleared it but i still have the same problem!
The application itself cannot reset :/

I'll assume that you have a data / messaging option
i'll assume that you are able to get to the fido mobile portal home page..this will confirm that you have access to mobile data
if the IM app starts up on the handset then it isn't a handset issue.....
if when you try to login in and there is still no connection then there maybe a issue with the IM platform...for instance ...IM APP MSN MESSENGER...sometimes there maybe a issue with microsofts IM platform and they did not send a notification to the cell phone providers....
this would definitely require you to call up customer service and seek tech support help...

One of the last troubleshooting steps we have is a master reset. This will reset everything back to factory settings and erase everything in the phone.

a) Re-install the MSN application. (Delete from the device and re-install through the PC)
b) Use another messenger app (ebuddy, msnq, etc...)

It only works when I load it with my other email account which has only 3 contacts. With my actual email account, it only loads the offline people (which has more than 100 people on it)
