Just wanted to share my experience getting LTE working on my GS3, as I see a lot of people are having problems.
I got my GS3 about 3 months ago, before Fido had LTE service. When I first got it, I just walked into a Fido store and asked to activate a Micro SIM. They charged me $10, I stuck it in the phone and it worked right away (This is a Rogers phone BTW, I didn't have to unlock it to work on Fido). I got the "H+" symbol for reception, and the max speed I managed to achieve anywhere was around 10 - 12 Mbps down and 1 - 2 Mbps up (using the Speedtest.net app). Honestly this was pretty fast, downloaded stuff from the play store pretty quick and loaded websites almost instantly.
Today, I went to the Fido kiosk in the Hillcrest Mall (Richmond Hill, ON), and asked for an LTE Micro SIM. I didn't get any of the run-around **bleep** that others seem to be getting. She just handed me one and charged me $10. I called Fido, activated the SIM and stuck it in the phone. Took about 10 minutes before it was activated and I got service. I played with the phone for a while and initially couldn't get any faster speeds than I did without the LTE SIM.
I googled a few things... and eventually came across the Fido APN settings for LTE. I setup a new APN as follows:
Name: Fido LTE
MMS Proxy: 184.108.40.206
MMS Port: 80
Everything else I just left default. Then I tried a speed test again, and still could not get anything faster than 10 - 12 Mbps. I tried changing every setting I could with regards to the network, APN settings, etc., and nothing seemed to work. Finally I called Fido again, told the guy I still wasn't getting LTE speeds, he fed me the usual "Well sir since it's an unlocked phone and not technically supported by Fido, and... blah blah blah blah blah", then he said, "but if you want I can try resetting your network settings and that might help." I said great, do that. I hung up the phone, rebooted my GS3, and sure enough, ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOM. I honestly wouldn't have believed anybody if they told me they could get the speeds I saw on my phone today.
Anyhow, hopefully this helps anyone trying to get LTE working with an unlocked phone on Fido!
Some pics to show you I'm not full of it... I still can't believe the speed!
Fido LTE Micro SIM (since some Fido reps seem to swear it doesn't exist...)
And finally... the wicked LTE speeds (This was all in Richmond Hill). I still can hardly believe it!
Hope this helps everyone having difficulty!

To be honest I'm not sure what they did or exactly what I said to get them to do it... I think it was kind of a last resort type of thing when I complained enough that it wasn't working. I know once a couple years back I had problems getting my Blackberry to work, and they "deleted the data plan from my account and re-added it". After several days of no BIS, this finally solved the problem in about 2 minutes, but for some reason to them this was a last resort. I spoke with several CSR's before one of them finally suggested this, and took this step.
I should mention, for me at least, when I enter the APN settings, LTEMOBILE.APN must be in capitals. If I enter it lower case it does not work...

Hi, I just bought the New Optimus G PRO ^_^ from south Korea and i had to setup the same LTEMOBILE.APN to gain access to 3G but still cant get the fido/rogers LTE Band7 since this phone is set to work on band 3 and band 8, Is there a way to turn on different LTE radio band or find a software to reprogram Qualcomm modems and turn on band7 by that program? If yes : how to perform this maneuvre? thank you

I would like know if the ASUS Padfone Infinity would work on Fido with the LTE Network - using your settings?
This is the device:
I'm not sure if should I place the order or not. The phone will come from Taiwan
