LTE bands don't match but frequency does

My phone has the following:

FDD-LTE:band 1/3/7/20 (800/1800/2100/2600)

I know Fido has the follow:

1700/2100/2600

But when I google the LTE bands in Canada, the LTE bands are 4/7/17

Is my phone compatible?

Hello CuriousPhone,

Your phone is compatible with one of the three LTE frequencies, 2600MHz (band 7).

I understand that it appears 2100MHz is also compatible, but unfortunately it is not compatible because that frequency is on two different bands (band 1 vs band 4). See here.

With band 4, the 2100MHz also needs 1700MHz to work properly which your phone does not have. I think I have explained it more thoroughly in some of my previous posts so feel free to peruse some of them.

So your phone would work on the Fido/Rogers LTE network. You should note, however, since it only has one of the compatible frequencies coverage might be limited depending on the frequencies of the surrounding towers.

You should also check to see whether the 2G and '3G', or WCDMA/UMTS, frequencies are compatible.

  I hope this helps Smiley

Cheers

Thanks for your help and reply.

I'm certain my phone works with the 2G and 3G network Fido provides.

Phone has:

GSM: 850/1900

WCDMA: 850/1900

Hey CuriousPhone!

Your phone will work on both our 2G and 3G network! We use 850 MHz and 1900 MHz for GSM, UMTS, HSPA and HSPA+.

Hope this helps! Smiley
