Cannot access internet using personal hotspot

Hi,

Just got my Nexus 5 and purchased a FIDO LTE sim. Everything seems to work great except for hotspot. I tried to hotspot my laptop to internet via Nexus 5. I could establish a WiFi connection, but the tablet could not access the internet. I used to have a Sony Ericsson and hotspot always worked.

I tried calling Fido and Google support, but going nowhere.

I'm a prepaid customer. Do I need Fido to enable the hotspot (tether) for my account? Is there such a restriction?

Hey Joseph,

Tethering is not a service we offer for prepaid, I will provide your comment to the team in charge.  If it becomes available to prepaid customer the information will be updated on our website.

Hi RYC,

Tethering is actually not enabled for prepaid accounts therefore it's normal that it wouldn't work. I find it strange that you were able to do so before.

Hi Stephen

Since customer paid for their data on a prepaid account, why is tethering not allowed? The data will stop when the prepaid amount expired? I think the function is needed by many of us. I am a Fido prepaid customer.
