I have just upgraded my Android phone to the new 2.2 software...and now I cannot use the 3G network! I have tried using different APN's as suggested in other posts, but no dice. I have also tried to re-install the new software, but again, does not fix anything. My last resort was a clean-reset with wiping all my settings and hoping to see that the new software would work, but still, no 3G on my Acer Liquid E. The notification bar shows 3G/E/H/G, depending on my coverage, but it does not show the sent/recieved arrows beside the icon. As well, when I disable the use of the mobile internet, the icon in the status bar still shows. And when I launch my browser, it tells me that there is no internet connection. And finally, when I tried to ping my connection using the *#*#4636#*#* number, and tells me the IP address in not reachable.
My Wi-Fi is fine, my Bluetooth is fine. It is just the 3G that I would like to be fixed! (It's the main reason I have a smartphone!)
Any help as soon as possible please?

you probably just need to call fido and have them reset your account, and it should work... for about a week.
I have a similar problem with my htc dream, and now desire, both running 2.2 - my calls and texts would work great, but Internet wouldn't. it seems to cut out about once a week, i call they reset it, and it works again.

I've been having the same problem on my Acer liquid e after i installer de Android 2.2 from acer canada's website.
Since then i haven't been able to acces the web from my cell since then.
My Wi-Fi works, i see the 3G icon but i don't have any Data transfer arrow anymore....
I called fido and it still not working and submited the issue to Acer Canada....
Did you get any news about fixing this issue?

I am in the same boat. Upgrade to 2.2 and 2G and 3G have stopped working.
Tried several APN, bought new SIM, FIDO reset a few things to no avail.
A solution would be fantastic.

For the record that solution only lasts for a few days to a week or so. Fido/Rogers is in total denial there is any large scale problem whatsoever.

ok people i finaly got the answer.
since i just had my phone it was still on waranty so i got a new Acer liquid e.
And guess what?
I installed the 2.2 OS on my new phone and the data works perfectly.
So the bug was in my phone.
So if u guys just got your phone sent it back to the mobile provider so they can send it to ACER Canada if your phone is on warranty because it's a bug that can't be fixed in the phone. So you have to get a new one and as soon as u get it install the Android 2.2 to see if u have a data connection.
So don't forget that it's the phone that as a bug and not the 2.2 OS.
