Re: LG Optimus 2X (LGP990HN)

With the uncertainty of possible offical (Fido) upgrade to gingerbread, I have doubt of the upgrade to ice cream. Just wonder, what percentage of LG Optimus 2X user wants upgrade to GB? (For sure, not 100%) When they release a new phone, they MUST program it with the OS. But not for upgrade! (Who will invest money into something that don't have a profit. By then is time to buy a new phone, more profit and keep coming back)

When the warranty of my phone is expire, I will try to upgrade through CM7.

Re: LG Optimus 2X (LGP990HN)

I had the Iphone 3G.. Contract was UP so decided to try out "android" and the LG phone.. BAD MISTAKE

Got 2 LG phones (me and my daughter).. Many Issues including Lock ups.. so bad that you actually need to REMOVE THE BATTERIE to do a reset.  Other related Issues.. As I was setting up the Sound ~ Ring tones.. it started rigging  none stop, had to again! Remove the battery.. (I was at work at the time.. very embarrassing.  Support from Fido and LG are.. “Umm  we are working on it”.. They should RECALL the phone.. like they do for cars! :smileywink:...  The Market Application for the Android.. is like a "Free for all" ==> JUNK and many applications with Bugs.. beware..

Needless to say, I’m very upset.  And LG is getting very bad review from me, and I am passing the word around. I understand that all phones have Issues, but this is taking to long to fix and support really sucks.  I cant replace the phone  since it's more then what is it.. 14 days ?  anyway  IF you want to have mine HALF PRICE! even better 100$ it's yours! I'm going back to the Iphone.. Clean ~ Simple ~ Neat.

Don't dream to much about it Reneinwindsor. LG announced that it won't be until the 2nd trimester of 2012 for ICS. No mention about 2.3

So, really...

LG Optimus 2X 2.3.4 Gingerbread Update has been available but LG has owned that the GPS Issue exists and will offer a fix.

I ask, when will the Gingerbread for FIDO branded LG Optimus 2X be released?

Then, there is Ice Cream Sandwich...

When? Don't keep us waiting.

I know this is LG's problem, but since this is a branded phone, it is upto the service provider to push for it. I believe the process is that FIDO requests for the update from LG because they have to agree on certain specifications... etc.

But please! Give us the update!!!!!!

Thanks

@childoftheworld : I have to have faith in that Fido/Rogers has pushed for the update and we all need to be patient.  If a update is rushed..it will not do anyone any good.  Have you considered what would happend if LG decided there would be no more updates for the LG Optimus 2X...what will you do then ????

there is so much more to life....

my 2 cents

Re: LG Optimus 2X (LGP990HN)

I just wanted to let people know that I just hooked up my LG Optimus 2x to my PC and ran the LGMobile Update software, and am happy to announce that it downloaded and installed the Android 2.3.4 update. Took long enough, but it's finally here. Time to find out if it was worth the wait!
