Hey, just bought myself a new/used blackberry. When I inserted my sim, it asked me for a network MEP code... How do I go about find this?!

Thanks.

Hey @Community

I know this is a older thread, but thought it would be good to update the information concerning this subject.

The MEP code is not a request to unlock the blackberry.

It's simply an additional information needed on the blackberry itself.

I found a link here that gives information on how to get the MEP code.

Hope this helps Smiley

The phone is asking for the sim unlock code. Probably the handset came from a different carrier. You'll have to check with the original carrier if they can give you the code or you have to find a way to unlock it yourself by going to one of those phone shops.

if your going to use a phone with fido, you must make sure the phone is either

A) Locked to Fido or

B) Unlocked

hope this helps
