If like me, your Nexus S lost most or all connectivity to the cellular network following the update, the link below will be what you are looking for. Follow the instructions at the bottom carefully. Method 2 worked for me.

i didn't even get the 2.3.6 update yet, how did you get yours OTA?

Really? I thought I was behind in getting the update. I never even recieved the earlier version of the update 2.3.6(GRK39C) which causedwifi/tethering issues for some. The new one (GRK39F) rolled out one the 25th of September. If you haven't recieved it yet, it should arrive soon I would imagine. If you can't wait, its pretty easy to flash it to the phone manually.

Please be aware that any modifications done to the phone's software (IE flashing the phone with a firmware not released by Fido) will void the warranty on your device.

Good point! I should have mentioned that.
Perhaps a Fido representative can comment since this is an exceptional situation where both technical support for Fido and Samsung offer no solutions? Its not a just response for an OTA update sanctioned by Fido which may result in making the device inoperable for its intended use.

I used the KF1 version which I believe is the baseband variant for Rogers/Fido, though I can't garauntee that since I bought from Bestbuy prior to Fido officially carrying it in store. I believe that as long as you avoid radio versions for the I9020T (Wind Mobile/T-Mobile variant) you should be ok.

sigh, totally didnt work for me...
i went to the fido store today and requested a new sim card (still not working)
I flashed back to (what i think is) stock radio, but nothing =/
Currently where I am at:
MODEL: GT-i9020A
Version: 2.3.6
Baseband: I9020AUCKB2
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-gf5f63ef
android-build@apa28 #1
BUILD: GRK39F

Which radio version did you end up flashing? Did your baseband version end in KB2 prior to flashing?
