I just saw that google announced a 2.3.4 update on the Nexus S. Is it going to be updated automatically through the Fido network? How will it work? Will we need to do a full backup (apps, SMS...)?
Yes, it will be rolled-out automatically by Google. All other variants of the Nexus S have already received this update. The Fido version (I9020A) appears to be the last one not yet seeing the update.
And no, there is no need to do a full back-up first
